Venue
The symposium will be held in Potsdam, the capital city of the State of Brandenburg, at the Palace Theatre of the New Palace in Sanssouci Park.
Beside the New Palace a variety of attractive and fascinating buildings are situated in the Sanssouci Park like the Sanssouci Palace, the New Chambers, the Charlottenhof Palace, the Roman baths, the Orangery.
Potsdam was the Royal Seat of the Brandenburg-Prussian rulers and was designated as a "world cultural heritage site" by UNESCO in 1990.
The symposium will start on 8 October in Caputh nearby Potsdam with a visit of the „Einsteinhaus“, the summerhouse of Albert Einstein from 1929 until 1932:
The Welcome Evening Event will take place in the Caputh Palace; build after 1662 by the Great Elector, Friedrich Wilhelm of Brandenburg.
The “Genius Loci” Reception will held at the Great Refractor on the Telegrafenberg, where the “Science Park Albert Einstein” is situated.

The area of the Telegrafenberg houses a variety research institutes like the Potsdam-Institute for Climate Impact Research and interesting buildings. In the basement of the main building of PIK, the Michelson building, the “Potsdam Michelson Experiment” was conducted in 1881. This experiment is reconstructed now.
